More about Manisha Grewal
Meet Manisha Grewal, MA, BA who is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) Manisha Grewal comes to this work with the heart of a physician and the soul of a therapist. With over ten years in medicine and more than three years immersed in psychiatry, Manisha’s journey into psychotherapy was not a departure from healing, but a deeper embrace of it. What moved her most wasn’t the act of prescribing it was the conversations. The quiet, powerful moments of connection where healing began not only in the body but in the mind and spirit.
Born and raised in Malaysia until the age of 18, Manisha’s life and career have spanned continents from medical clinics and hospitals in New York to a year of reflection and living in Aruba, and now a psychotherapy practice in Canada. Each place has left its mark, shaping her understanding of how culture, religion, migration, and trauma influence the way we suffer, the way we love, and the way we heal.
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, perfectionism, burnout, insomnia, substance use, and suicidal ideation. Manisha’s therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions. But above all, her work is grounded in presence. She listens deeply, validates gently, and walks alongside her clients with humility, compassion, and care not as someone with all the answers, but as someone who deeply honors the complexity of the human experience.
What sets Manisha apart is her rare ability to bridge the world of medicine with the world of psychotherapy. Her background one the field of medicine means she doesn’t overlook the body when treating the mind. She understands how thyroid disorders, chronic pain, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune conditions, or even vitamin deficiencies can alter our emotional landscape. With this dual lens, she brings clarity to the confusion many clients feel when navigating both medical and mental health concerns, ensuring that no part of a person’s story is dismissed or minimized.
She also brings an unwavering commitment to cultural safety. Having been raised in a Muslim country and lived across diverse regions, Manisha holds space for identity, faith, language, and heritage with deep sensitivity. For those who have often felt misunderstood, especially in clinical settings, her practice offers something rare: understanding without judgment, respect without assumption.
Clients often describe her therapy space as one of warmth, honesty, and deep reflection a space where what hurts can be untangled, what’s confusing can be made sense of, and where rebuilding happens slowly, gently, and with care.
Whether you are navigating burnout, grief, trauma, or simply trying to find your way back to yourself, Manisha Grewal offers more than therapy. She offers a return to wholeness with both the knowledge of a physician and the heart of a healer.
